When you create an account we collect your name and email address. As you use the app, we store the records you and your co-parent choose to save: family details, child profiles, calendar events, updates, messages, handover details, expenses, photos and documents. Photos and documents are stored securely and only shared within your family.
Your information is used only to provide the service: showing your shared calendar, updates, records and messages to you and the other parent of your family. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your family data for advertising. Aggregate, de-identified usage statistics may be used to improve the product.
Each family's records are isolated and visible only to the two parents who belong to that family. No other user, family or third party can access your records. If you invite a mediator, counsellor or lawyer to rely on your records, you do so by exporting or printing them yourself — we never share them on your behalf.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with strict family-level access controls. A permanent audit trail records significant actions so you can rely on the accuracy of your history. We recommend using a strong, unique password and keeping your login details private.
Your records stay in your family account for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information and family records in accordance with our legal obligations and platform retention requirements.
Common Ground is used by parents to record information about their children. Children themselves do not use the app, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All child-related information is provided and controlled by their parents.
